I have been given everything I ever wanted in a comic book movie since my best friend slipped me a David Michilenie era Iron Man Volume 1 #118, like a dealer handing out samples. I had a great time with Nolan's Batman, but who but Joss could have given us the Manhattan-based, pop-art colored, characters with feet of clay that defined the Marvel style. I don't know if anyone who hasn't read comics appreciates how finely tuned this is, but for a nerd of the 70/80s, I got something I never thought I would get.
If you haven't seen it, go see it in a big theater in New York City. I stepped out expecting to see a smoking Stark tower on the horizon.
